San Jose has 140 miles of bike lanes, 40 miles of bike trails and 16 miles of bike routes, according to the city's Web site, but Councilmember Sam Liccardo wants more. The NFL's New England Patriots, last year's AFC champions, started practicing for their Monday Night Football game against the San Diego Chargers at the SJSU football practice field on Wednesday afternoon. On Sept. 23, I went to the press screening of "Rachel Getting Married" at Camera 12 off Second Street in San Jose, a few blocks from SJSU. The movie was filmed using a digital video camera, which was a style recently popularized in Hollywood but well known to the art film and alternative film industry for at least 10 years.
